Write questions before the appointment so they do not disappear when the visit becomes busy:

- What should I do if a dose is missed or vomited?
- What is the follow-up date or trigger?
- Which change should prompt a same-day call or emergency visit?
- Which documents or results will be available, and how do I receive them?
Do not fill in clinical answers from memory after the visit. Ask the clinic to repeat or write down anything that is unclear.

Keep notes factual and pet-specific
Write “ate half of dinner on Tuesday” rather than “felt sick.” Record “clinic said to give the medicine twice daily” only when that is the exact instruction, then verify the label. Keep a separate place for your questions, the veterinarian's answers, and the official documents.
